A few of the wild ones are actually endangered in their native range but they thrive in California and are considered naturalized instead of invasive because they don’t compete with the native birds!

There is a lady in Long Beach who has about 50 of them and lets them out everyday to run the town and they come back to her house every night. I loved watching them flying around 💚

We see huge groups of them flying over my house in Costa Mesa. You can hear them before you see them. Every once in a while they sing songs in our backyard and it feels like we are on a tropical island. I adore them.
