They were always meant to be. True fans know this. Peyton was very scared, insecure and always thinking about others. Lukas was afraid of his feelings and always running around his tail. And Brooke, even though I love her in general, was extremely wrong to come between them. She knew since the first episodes that they wanted each other. Peyton had him first.

Haters will never get it, you can disagree with the actions that got them there but also realise they were always meant to be. They’re my fave couple and understood each other on a deeper level that unfortunately Brooke just didn’t have with Lucas. That’s not her fault, but Lucas kept chasing something that he already had with Peyton and always came on strong with all his relationships and scared Peyton away too early, so he jumped to Brooke before Peyton could even process all her trauma and her feelings for him. Peyton was never emotionally ready for him when he wanted her so he projected that love onto someone else and by then it was too late for Peyton to accept his love. They were a mess but found each other in the end.
