I was taught 4 ways in class, including both methods shown, however the issue is that not all equations can be factored, which is why the quadratic formula is important

I use the cross method factorising method, cause I find it easier than the quadratic formula

In France we firstly calculate the Delta of the equation, if it’s higher than 0 then it’s 2 result possible, if it’s =0 then there is 1 result possible, it’s it’s less then none. Then we calcul with b*2-√(Delta)/2a for the first result possible, then b*2+√(Delta)/2a for the second, and if it’s only 1 result possible then it’s b*2/2a
