Nag-practice ako mag-Call of Duty kasi player siya noon. Hindi ko sinabi sa kanya na nag-download at nag-eensayo ako para makasama siya. Hanggang isang araw, nag-message siya na maglalaro raw siya ng COD, kaya sinabi ko na sasali ako. Nagulat siya kasi hindi naman daw ako naglalaro. Doon ko na kinuwento na nag-practice ako para makasama siya. Pero ang nangyari, binuksan lang niya yung game para i-add ako, tapos nag-offline agad. Nang tanungin ko kung bakit, sabi niya tinamad daw siya. Kinabukasan, nag-open ako ng COD at nakita ko na online siya—nasa game kasama ang tropa ko. Doon ko na-realize na kaya pala ayaw niya makipaglaro sa akin, kasi may iba na siyang kalaro na hindi ko alam. I practiced playing COD because I wanted to spend time with him, but it felt like I was the only one making an effort. When he said he was “tired,” I believed him, but seeing him online the next day playing with someone else made me realize the truth. It wasn’t really about being tired—maybe he just didn’t choose to play with me. And that honestly hurt, because I was willing to try something new just to be part of his world.
