All Chinese airlines allow 2x 20/23kg (depending on which airline) bags per person. It would’ve been cheaper for you to buy a cardboard box, have it wrapped and check that in as your second suitcase. I had to do that for air china as their T&C’s weren’t clear, just said 50kg check in luggage, found out at checkin that it was 50kg spread between 2x23kg check in bags and 7kg cabin.

My check in agent was so nice when I turned up overweight and was totally blank about what to do - she offered to add in my carry on bag as a second check in bag for free and gave me a minute to repack my things between the 2 bags so that each was under the limit, even though the queue was long and people were stressed and waiting. I didn't even ask her to do that!

im going to Chongqin june 3, i reckoned my clothes are to warm for chinese summer (i live in northern sweden) so I'll just buy clothes there but as far as I'm aware by my ticket you can bring 2 bags totalling 12 kg as handluggage

The limits the limit are you’ll probably be charged more if it was the UK tbh. They are usually flexible if it’s within 1kg above the max but if not they’ll fine you

I was just flying and a few people were getting squeezed and I have to think it's related to fuel cost going up. Airline fuel is their major flux cost, and enforcement of the baggage rules ramps up when the fuel goes up

my luggage is 27.4kg when limit is 23kg, I was supposed to paid 110pounds but the staff are so nice they just let me go.(cus I am gonna to miss the flight, and I arrive 8mins before at the end)😂😂😂 happened 2 days ago
