@mom.uncharted: Replying to @Kyle on the Coast This is another aspect I’m struggling with- kids can’t have social media until 16 but Mom and Dad can post whatever they want and all the loopholes to exploit kids still exist? That doesn’t make alot of sense to me

Athenas :
What are your thoughts on teachers posting their students on social media without the parents’ consent? As a teacher myself, this is something that doesn’t sit right with me, especially when the students are in Pre-K or Elementary school. The fact that some teachers even monetize that kind of content makes it feel even more inappropriate.

Sarah | Protect Kids Online :
It feels strange to tell kids “No social media until 16” when their parents have (potentially) created a lengthy digital footprint for them that violates their right to privacy, informed consent and online safety.

Kyle on the Coast :
It’s so much bigger than banning them from using an app where they can fake their age. The responsibility falls solely on the parents to stop it before it starts. If I could go back, I would do things soooo differently.
