@sheisapaigeturner: I think men not having paternity leave is one of the major reasons having kids makes marriage so hard ##marriage##newparents##newmom##newdad##maternityleave
My husband took off 2 months after I went back after 5 months. Next baby he is going to take 12 weeks!

My husband got 26 paid weeks off which he took while I was off too which meant that we got to settle into a routine together and it didn’t all sit on just my shoulders in the beginning

My husband took 5 weeks following birth and then just took 2 months +1 unpaid off leave from months like 7-10 it was magical and transformative both being 100% on parenting at this age

my husband stayed with us home 8 weeks after birth and that made postpartum a truly blissful time. He bonded with our son incredibly and today he's as much of a parent to him as I am. he went with us to all the doctor's visits, took care of him as much as I did. we're now about to do exact same thing with our second baby.

We are due in July, my husband gets 12 weeks, so we are planning on him taking the first 4 weeks, then 7 weeks after my leave ends and he will save a week in case it is needed sometime in the first year!

We have two teenagers. My husband is a teacher, and our kid born at the beginning of summer was such an easier time for us and our marriage, than our winter baby, when my husband only got one week off and then had to go back.

YES! My wife took off the first 4 weeks with me and I was SO grateful especially with a c-section. Then she returned to work for awhile and stacked a couple more weeks at the end of my leave. It was perfect

I am so incredibly grateful that my husband will not only get paternity leave, but get more than me! We have had so many conversations about how important equal parenting is to me since we met and I know this piece will be important😊

My ex went straight back to work, he only took 2 days off. He took his 6 week paternity leave when our baby was 6 months old. He smoked weed and played league of legends all day.

Had an unexpected C-section, but my husband and I both planned on taking our leave at the same time. Best decision ever.

This is what we did. My husband took 6 weeks at the beginning (4 paternal and 2 PTO) and then he took another 6 when I went back to work to help with the transition.

My husband lucked out and got 12 weeks so he would take 4-6 weeks as soon as baby is born then he takes the rest when I go back to work. It worked wonderfully for us especially having more than one kid

My husband got 4 weeks this time and then also took a week of vacations time and took it right away and it was SO special having us all home together! And it made the transition easier for our 4 year old too because he got special daddy time too.

My husband took 2 weeks off and only one of those weeks was paid. He went back to work and I was still on bed rest ordered by my doctor due to complications. But I had to ignore that because he had to go back to work and I didn’t have support.

My husband is planning to take his 2 weeks of paternity leave right away when baby is born. Then he will use the 3-4 weeks of PTO he has saved up to only work 3 days a week for several weeks while I’m taking 12 weeks off. Hoping this will work well for us - it’s our first baby!
