There’s a prolific popular author whose books I really enjoy for the first 75%. Then the ending often falls flat, almost as if the manuscript sat unfinished until the deadline and someone else had to wrap it up.

I struggle with idea addiction. 😂 Also, it's not a book, but the world building of Fear and hunger is fantastic! with multiple endings, that all are really satisfying aside the one you leave, but I think that it's intentional. So you would end up returning for unfinished business

When I was reviewing what I wrote so far, I realize that all the characters represent me and the trauma they were going through was trauma that I’ve been through. Ever since then I haven’t been able to touch the story.

I save my unfinished manuscripts in what I call the boneyard. I often visit it and dig up pieces that work better in a different manuscript.

mine is going to start as the nightmare for a few, like they're all already in some version of hell and when the nightmare does come it seems more tame in a way to the monsters of the town that are human. The nightmare almost feels natural and tame in comparison to the actions and sins of the titular characters in the town
