Lived at college in Harrisburg. I was 15 miles, in either way, from a Nuclear power plant (Three Mile Island) an international airport and Fort Indiantown Gap. I worked security for the college. That night it was so eerie to not see any planes, yet you could hear the A-10s overhead. I was also was volunteer fire police and went up the next day.

My mom was a civilian nurse working on a navy base on 9/11. Getting on and off base was a nightmare for ages, and we never knew if she was going to be unable to get home on time because of lockdowns.

I was in Norfolk VA, about 4wks preggo and it took my daughters dad, Navy Vet, over 3 hrs to get to his station for work that morning. We lived literally 5 mins from base. I walked to 711 for a slurpee and I’m not kidding, it just felt like the world had stopped. Eerily quiet for such a big Naval Town

I was 3 months pregnant and sick with HG super bad so I fell asleep maybe around midnightish, woke up a few hours later and that’s all that was on tv for days. I went into a depression. My mom made sure no tvs would be on when I was in the room.
