A lot of people are asking why none of the people with him jumped in to help. It could be that none of them could swim either. However, I do think they could have at least thrown something into the water to help him float. There should be a rule: if you want to operate or use a boat, at least one person on board should have above average swimming or water rescue skills in case of an emergency.
