For the people confused why Gil is losing despite being considered so powerful is because his servant form is weaker than him when he was alive. This applies to characters like saber or other gods servants. The opposite also applies though. Servants like William Shakespeare or other authors that are servants get way stronger in heir servant forms. Also, the quality of a servants master is very important. Saber in fate stay night is nerfed af because of shirou. Gil in fate stay night is also very nerfed because he’s sustaining himself with no master. He’s also fighting Ishtar here who’s a god from his time, so he’s fighting people of equal caliber to his strength.
