fear could make him lose weight too and he may eat less. One thing that worked for me is putting the food in a place he could hide to eat. I used a grey bin with a lid that I cut a hole in. They felt safer eating while hidden. Then once they felt safer, id start to work on the eating by removing the lid first for awhile, then bringing out the food.

My kitty telli is almost a twin to Harold… if his teeth continue to be a problem check for allergies. After thousands in dental surgery, struggling to keep weight on and years of health scares I had a new vet and they put him on kenalog 5ml and antibiotics twice a month. Eventually his mouth situation stabilized and he stopped getting infections and we were able to stop the meds after about a year. Then we went to a easy digestion/hypoallergenic food and it’s been five years with no issues

his weight loss was more than likely because of the tooth My mother's cat was losing a pound a month because of his bad teeth and once they were removed he has regained all his weight and he's so much happier he's friendlier and his coat is even looking good.
