That Guy From That Thing :
To be fair, on balance, this is one of the least problematic things about Palantir.

Not saying they are beneficial or healthy but snus (tobacco pouches or more recently nicotine pouches) had been widely used in sweden for over 200 years. Something like 10-15% of the population use them. As far as i know there is little proof of serious long term damage to users. Not recommending anyone, just offering more context.

Coming from someone who recently quit Zyn. Zyn is CRAAZY addicting. No other pouches are even close to Zyns delivery system.

I understood the "cognitive improvement" of nicotine studies were debunked decades ago as just addiction cycle i.e. reward post-hit and suppression of crave. The "productivity" effect is not leaving your workspace for a smoking/vape break.

It’ll stop those “smoke breaks” and keep people at their desks. As someone who smoked for 30+ years and switched to pouches, I can say they were a better option than vape for me. But I am hooked for sure. Nice thing is, I got through a box of pouches over 3 days vs a pack a day in cigarettes. So it’s far less expensive. I also no longer smell like cigs. I still want to smoke tho, and I love the smell of someone smoking, yet dislike the way a smoker smells.

Local Cryptid :
It's a part of a bigger initiative that increases accessibility to necessities/consumables to keep people at work for more hours and not leave the office. On a scale its like a sinister version of having free childcare and a gym onsite to ease employee burden. But for places like palantir its about increasing hold of employeea free time instead of making employees lives easier and less stressful
