Le plus grand changement n'a pas été d'apprendre à répondre. Il a été d'accepter que je n'avais pas besoin de gagner toutes les discussions. Pendant longtemps, je croyais qu'une limite consistait à convaincre l'autre de changer. Alors j'expliquais. Je me justifiais. Je restais dans des conversations qui m'épuisaient, en espérant trouver enfin la bonne phrase. En réalité, ce comportement cherchait surtout à protéger le lien. Mon cerveau avait appris qu'interrompre une discussion pouvait mettre la relation en danger. Alors il préférait mon épuisement à ce risque. Aujourd'hui, je vois les choses autrement. Une limite n'est pas une tentative de contrôler quelqu'un. C'est une décision sur ce que je fais lorsque mes besoins ne sont plus respectés. Je ne peux pas obliger l'autre à arrêter de parler. Je peux choisir de ne plus écouter. Et ce choix ne signifie pas que j'aime moins. Il signifie simplement que je m'abandonne moins. Est-ce qu'il t'est déjà arrivé de rester dans une conversation simplement parce que tu avais peur des conséquences si tu partais ?
