As an early childhood educator, I truly cannot commend your efforts as a parent enough. The time, care, and intention you are putting into teaching him about the food he is eating goes far beyond simply preparing a meal. You are nurturing curiosity, independence, and confidence, all of which are such important foundations for young children.
Moments like these are where some of the most meaningful learning happens. By involving him and helping him understand what he is eating, you are not only supporting his health and awareness, but you are also teaching valuable life skills, skills like participation, responsibility, and a positive relationship with food and learning.
These are the kinds of experiences that children carry with them into educational settings. As educators, we see firsthand how powerful it is when a child arrives with that sense of curiosity and willingness to explore and try new things. His educators will be incredibly blessed to have a child who is already being supported in such thoughtful and intentional ways.
You should be really proud of the environment you are creating for him. It’s clear that so much love, patience, and guidance is going into these moments, and that will make a lasting difference in his confidence, development, and joy in learning. 🤍
