We set a phone reminder of what protein goes out of date when unpacking the shopping so we use it first/in order x

I have been years teaching my daughter that the best before date is just a guide. So much food wasted being thrown as it’s “out of date”. Yes I get meat etc but fruit and veg-noooo

What would you recommend for fresh herbs? I’ve tried freezing but find they lose their punch, especially basil and parsley. Or they go a bit grotty in the fridge after a couple of days and then there’s no point freezing them. Hate chucking them in the bin though!

I feel weird at the thought of offering people I know food. A bloke at work had his wife and kids leave him so I brought him in a meal knowing that he can't cook and would end up eating shop stuff and even then, I felt SUPER weird

I hate food waste, I try my damndest to use everything, even with that I forget I have something, I've bought food with a meal in mind and then life life's and I dont get to it and I annoy myself BUT I have pigs and chickens around so I have next to no food actually in the bin 🤣
