Good briefing,,, id like to add something having been interviewed by all the Majors back in 1986 except United, they never even answered my application. ( mostly do to the fact they prioritized minorities at the time because they where sued) American was the last interview i had and was hired ,all the others shot me down, Usair, Northwest, Delta . It seemed the common denominator was wanting to be an "American Airlines pilot ",, not just an airline pilot. They wanted a team player, a pilot interested in the company, a company man, and did specify they wanted captains. They also liked in company references, and brought them up by name.who the Captains interviewing knew . Letters of recommendation from thier own pilots goes a long way , and got me hired. One other note HR has such a large hand in getting hired now id join the Gay pilots Association GPA and pay the shitty membership dues ,,, whether you male ,female gay or straight,, it shows your tolerant, and can get along. Dont be surprised if a gay man is an interviewer representing HR. 😂
