@blueacregarden: Chop chop! Time to prune your smooth hydrangeas (Annabelle, incrediball, invincibelle, etc). In late winter/early spring you should prune your smooth hydrangeas to set them up for the gardening season before they leave dormancy. For best success when pruning your Annabelle hydrangeas, always: 1. Make sure you’re pruning the right kind of hydrangea! Check your buds. 2. Wait until late winter or early spring for your growing zone. Mid-March for us in CT. Any later and your plant will start leafing out. 3. Use clean and sharp pruning shears! 4. Compost the stems you remove (or throw them away if your plant showed signs of disease last year). #hydrangeapruning #springgardening #springgardenchores #gardening101 #gardeninghowto
