the share price of IJM does not reflect the true value of the company. i believe NTA is higher. It is also not healthy to have monopoly or oligopoly situation where consumers may not benefit in the long run. Such transaction should get appropriate regulator's consent and not merely capital markets approval as there could be other considerations. Likewise we do not want to see PNB or Khazanah do an acquisition over Sunway. This has happened before. Just my 2 cents of opinion on Corporate exercise vs Social balance in Malaysia.
