@itvnews: These days, much of our life is lived online. We take photos, we send messages - and all of those are stored on our devices. So what happens to all of that when we die? A recent study shows the majority of us care about who has access to our digital remains, but many of us don’t know how we can manage that access.

Comments are ridiculous. She has every right to the photos on her late husband’s phone. Imagine a family member or loved one passing suddenly, all you have is memories.

People should ALWAYS print their photos. It ensures accessibility to those memories to all.

I wrote my honours thesis on this in 2022, survey on whether people plan on having digital wills, inheritance of passwords, accounts and digital wallets, etc! Super interesting concept.

Unfortunately I get both sides to this, our phones are our lives, when we die, no one suddenly have access to our thoughts or memories, I dont see how a phone is any different from this. We put security measures to stop people from getting into our phones, family included, it’s personal, but then again we also don’t know if he would’ve wanted her to see another side to him in his phone. A digital will is a great idea
