@ashleyjames: Wow. What an honour to be invited to St James’s Palace by Queen Camilla and WOW – Women of the World to mark International Women’s Day. 🙏❤️ One thing I will say about Camilla is that she consistently puts her name behind women’s causes. her speech yesterday was one of the most powerful I’ve heard. She spoke directly to survivors of abuse and reminded everyone in the room that male violence against women is something we cannot stay silent about. When I met her we had a really moving conversation about Gisèle Pelicot and how emotional it was for both of us meeting her. Her bravery has started such an important conversation about where shame truly belongs and I was delighted to see her wearing her “Shame Must Change Sides” badge - so I put mine on 🙏 The whole afternoon felt a little surreal standing in a line alongside Dame Helen Mirren and so many inspiring people. I got to meet another Queen – the brilliant Hannah Waddingham – and hear wonderful stories from Michael Attenborough about years gone by. Also huge shoutout to my wingwoman Alice - we’ve stood next to each other both times I’ve met the queen now! ❤️ A huge thank you too to WOW. I did a talk for them in the North East last year and it meant a lot to return to my north eastern roots and be interviewed by the legend that is Jude Kelly - I’m in awe of what she has created and the impact they have globally is extraordinary! #fyp #transition #royalfamily
