@sd141414: Engineering difficulty decays faster than most builders update their mental model. Problems that supported entire products a few years ago can now be solved quickly with AI-assisted development. Moats still exist. They just moved higher up the stack. #SystemsThinking #AIEconomics #SoftwareArchitecture #Startups #AIEngineering

I see people cranking out Saas applications thinking because people used to get rich creating some solution that they will too if the just recreate it. Those days are over.

It may be a valid statement that most software problems can be solved by applying AI to build a solution. It is not a valid statement to say that someone has applied AI to every problem. Not every one is a builder or wants to be one. Humans still need to be motivated to direct AI towards problems and usable solutions. ... For now. .

so who do you call builders? developers who working on don't company and doing tasks assigned on them? or someone who is working in outsourcing? dashboard usually needed for someone who has no developers on board, so they will still prefer to use ready product rather than building one. or they will stay with spreadsheets

Velocity of user adoption for new capacity is (usually) slow ; people building for old paradigm (API and click through system) will still create some values and enjoy a reasonable market share for some times...though creating highly differentiated moat will mean domain-deep and autonomous execution that recognise shifting interfaces

Exactly! People used to complain about how hard our business niche was in technology. That’s a good thing. If it’s not everyone would be doing it and it’s no longer a sustainable business.

What I love about this situation is that all of a sudden, solo builders like me are now a legitimate threat to the establishment 💪
