Guy Pearce absolutely ATE in this movie. It’s almost a perfect movie. If only the credits rolled when Exley held up his badge as the cop cars pull up to the motel instead of having that stupid saccharine epilogue.

LA Confidential is genuinely an amazing movie, but I also don’t agree with giving Best Supporting Actress to Kim Basinger. no disrespect to here since she was great in it, but Julianne Moore in Boogie Nights was also right there

The movie is infinitely rewatchable because you always pick up little things and you enjoy it a little more and you watch people talk about it and you're like well. what about this aspect and what about that aspect? did you notice this and did you notice that they don't make intelligent movies anymore? they make movies so people can scroll on their phone watching Netflix
