@ceceonthescene: Replying to @NukeNike the president cannot cancel elections. The administration of elections is a power, explicitly granted to state governments. Presidents can enact tariffs, they have changed the names of buildings, and they have authorized military operations without congressional approval many times in the past. There are precedents and legal pathways for everything that you named. That is not true for canceling elections. These are not good counter examples. #fyp #politics #liberal
Thing is a lot of what he’s doing he can feasibly attempt through legal loopholes and stretching the constitution to its limits. Canceling elections is not one of those things lol

He can't do whatever he wants, but he can certainly try to. From the flag in my name I'm obviously not in the US and won't pretend I know enough to speak on this, but do you think it's possible that the Republicans in Congress will do as little as possible to stop him so that they don't lose control? Genuine question because I sincerely don't know that much about the US political system.
