I’m realizing that maybe I don’t have a motivation problem. Maybe I’ve just been trying to motivate myself toward things that were never really mine. There are parts of the conventional path that I can appreciate, but when I imagine building my entire life around what I’m “supposed” to want, something in me goes quiet. And then there are the things that make me feel completely alive. Running until my mind gets quiet. Being outside in the sun. Walking somewhere beautiful with nowhere I need to be. Moving my body. Doing handstands. Dancing. Traveling. Trying something new. Following an idea simply because it excites me. Creating a life that feels expansive instead of just looking successful from the outside. Those things don’t require me to manufacture motivation. I naturally move toward them. Maybe that’s information. Maybe we’re not supposed to become incredibly disciplined at forcing ourselves down paths that drain us. Maybe part of growing into ourselves is learning to recognize the difference between resistance because something is hard and resistance because something simply isn’t ours. I still believe in discipline. I still believe in doing difficult things. But I want my discipline to be in service of a life I actually want. I don’t want to spend my life becoming excellent at things that don’t light me up. I want to keep following the little sparks. The places where I feel curious, energized, free, playful, challenged, and alive. Because maybe those aren’t distractions from the path. Maybe they are the path. 🌞🌿🤸‍♀️💫 #ThePivotYear #FollowWhatLightsYouUp #CreateYourLife #PersonalGrowth #AuthenticLiving
