You can spend your whole life praying, reading the Bible every day, going to church every Sunday, serving God, seeing miracles, and even casting out devils in the name of the Lord. But still, you may not enter the kingdom of God. Why? Because the greatest danger is not that you have done nothing for God, but that you have been doing things for God without ever truly knowing Him. The Lord Jesus said, on that day, many will say to Him: “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?” But the Lord will say: “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV) Please listen carefully: You can be very busy doing things for God, but that does not always mean you are truly known by God. What God is looking for is not just busy servants, but children who are willing to draw near to Him and obey Him. Many people do not want to hear this truth: Heaven cannot be earned by works. Prayer, Bible reading, serving, and helping others are all precious. But if these are only outward habits, and they do not lead you to know the Lord more, and they do not allow your life to be changed by Him, then that is very dangerous. What truly saves a person is not human busyness, but a real relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Because what truly allows a person to enter the kingdom of heaven is not how many things you have done, but whether you truly know Jesus, whether you have been changed by Him, and whether you are willing to do the will of the Father. So how do we know Him? Not merely through religious habits, and not merely through outward activities, but by truly drawing near to Him. Spend time with Him. Pray to Him. Listen to Him in His word. And obey Him in your daily life. This is how a person truly comes to know God. The truth of God’s kingdom is this: When you are truly connected to the Lord Jesus, fruit will naturally begin to grow, your life will truly change, and your service will flow out of that relationship. Because in the end, what decides everything is not how much you have done, but whether the Lord knows you, and whether you truly know Him. If these words have touched your heart, please write: “Lord, I want to truly know You.” If you want to study God’s word more deeply, understand how to truly know God, and prepare yourself for the return of the Lord Jesus, you are welcome to join our online Bible study group.
