Ehhh I made a program using 2 stage smt combined with 3 candle sequences and before machine learning implemented It’s gained an average of 45% a year.pre slippage and fills. I don’t think It’s the individual concept more just how It’s tested since 2018

go backtest previous day previous weeks highs and lows and you will see that it is almost always paired with an SMT.

“Nobody is trading SMT without other confluences” — IRRELEVANT. The point is that SMT divergences themselves are not what people think they are, and do not have predictive power. We’d see a distribution shift using just SMT if it was a valuable confluence.
