The fact that she’s calling thousands of other Muslims ‘weird’ for saying Allahu Akbar? She didn’t even explain properly. And the praying really really really quick is so exaggerated like bf 💀.

It is not “weird” simply because you are not familiar with it. The fact that you have not seen it before does not mean that it is not in accordance with the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Sunnah. It would be better to look into the matter first before making statements about groups of people.
This is a form of dhikr that is recited after every four units of the Tarawih prayer, praising our Prophet. It is a practice within the Hanafi madhhab, which is one of the major and well-established schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
Not every mosque in the Turkish community recites the Qur’an during Tarawih, and this is not obligatory. During the day, many mosques hold mukabele, where the Qur’an is recited collectively.
In the future, it would be better to first inform yourself before making statements about large groups of people on matters that may not be fully understood.

You’re referring to the dhikr: “Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, la ilaha illa Allahu wallahu akbar. Allahu akbar wa lillahil-hamd.” Also, many Turks pray 20 rak‘ahs of Taraweeh in about an hour. Turkish mosques usually don’t do a full khatm of the Qur’an during Taraweeh, they recite shorter surahs or verses. That’s why it may seem faster. In mosques that do a khatm, the imam recites longer parts of the Qur’an, so each rak‘ah takes longer.

The imam was most likely correcting a mistake he made during the prayer. In the Hanafi madhhab there is a method for this. It would be better to look it up before calling it weird.

I understand, the first time I came here. But now I got used to it. So turkiye practices Mazhab hanafi which is totally different than maliki and shafie. During taraweeh, they only read an ayat. But there re some masjids that read khatimah (mostly arab mosque) like in fatih.

They’re praying really really quick she says😂 praying isn’t supposed to be an hour long and as long as you recite correctly and don’t do any wrong there’s no harm in doing it a bit quicker than others

Calling someone’s prayer “weird” is quite disrespectful. Muslims around the world follow different madhhabs, and this is the Hanafi madhhab. Just because it’s different from your practice doesn’t mean it’s incorrect.

When I went and prayed, everything was going normally until we were in sujud. The imam said “Allahu Akbar” several times, but no one around me got up except for me, so I became really confused.
I pray the normal daily prayers in mosques in Turkey quite often and this has never happened to me before, which is why it surprised me.
In my video I said Ramadan in Turkey felt a little “weird,” and I realise now I probably shouldn’t have worded it like that. What I meant was simply that this particular moment was strange to me personally because I had never experienced it before.
I also mentioned the prayer felt quick maybe I shouldn’t have said that either because it might have made it seem like that was the issue.
And just to clarify, this has nothing to do with the Hanafi madhhab or the Hanafi way of praying. I was only sharing a moment that confused me at the time.
I apologise if I offended anyone that was never my intention. May Allah forgive me if I said anything wrong.

She’s maliki or shafi and were most of Turkey and the Muslim population is hanafi, we celebrate the prophets birthday and they don’t. I don’t think she meant anything rude by it just that it’s different to what she’s used to but the way she worded it could cause some people offence. I’m sure she didn’t mean any harm.

why is everyone taking offense like?? as a turkish person myself i am now confused too because i’ve never seen a prayer like that. I always go to turkish mosques here in germany and never experienced anything like that. I would’ve been weirded out as well tbh and would’ve felt uncomfortable in such a moment. Guys pls just chill, i don’t think she wanted to insult the whole turkish nation, don’t put words in her mouth
