They just built a new building and then decided let’s move the staff into it please move their computers where like umm there is no Ethernet or internet connected in this building how are they going to work? There like you just plug in that blue cable? Where like to what? The hole in the wall?

working in a healthcare practices IT team. the shadow IT(1 "manager" lady) decided to buy new security software and install it due to thinking I didnt know what I was doing, her device getting quarantined, then everyone she installed it to getting quarantined due to malwarebytes getting installed was great. the explanation was even better

a few years ago the MD's assistant organized and overlooked the roll out of the new VOIP phones for a <40 person firm after the printer vendor pitched it to them and not inform us, their IT MSP. so they got 2x24 POE switches to replacing the managed 48 port (there were 2 subsidiaries in the open plan office and I guess 2 switches seemed "neater" to them for some reason). We only were informed when they contacted us because half the office couldn't get internet anymore (VLAN), after the VOIP techie came in and replaced the switch.

Sooo true. But then I get stuck with it becuase I am the only one that can. Then they get mad when it's not fixed in seconds, well go ask you sales person, becuase it's been 6 hours and no one is calling me back from support after 2 escalations. 😂😂

brooooo, right! msp here, one of our clients is having a new admin building built, didn't let us know until they broke ground. no plans for net work drops. they also want to demo the current admin building, the same building where 20 other buildings unlink to and where the dmarc is without planning to rerun all those fiber runs.
