incorrect, the lightsaber would turn off the moment it leaves your hand. it is stated in canon that lightsaber have a dead switch built in that turns it off when it leaves the user hand. Jedi and Sith have to use the force to keep it on when they want to use it to hit something at a distance. it's the very reason why either in the movie,TV series, or cartoon why they turn off when not being held. so none of that would ever happen because it would turn off before it fully leaves your hand.

Wrong in any movie of Star Wars and games the lightsaber turns off once its release from hand.

and it has a pressure switch you actually have to be holding it or using the force on it for it to stay lit. both Sith and Jedi have lost sabers in the shows.

The energy source on lightsabers actually only lasts a few minutes. It's not endless. Jedi actually had to recharge their lightsabers if they were in long term combat. If they were in combat, that lasted less than ten minutes, it's a lightsaber would naturally recharge from their force energy. They can hold a charge indefinitely, but the charge does have a limit.
