Y’all don’t work for the airlines and it shows… Check-in time is EVERYTHING. It’s literally a timestamp/sequence. So when flights get oversold or downgraded and yes, it happens, they go in reverse order meaning the last people to check in are the first to get bumped. So no, having a seat assignment doesn’t magically protect you. If you’re not checking in right at the 24-hour mark, you’re basically volunteering to be at the bottom of the list. Be mad at Southwest all you want, but this is how all airlines operate.
