I'm also a Brit ,My son in law is American lives in New Hampshire had to have his gall blader removed, the bill came to $177,000 but he had good insurance by their standards but still had to pay $17,000 co-pay, that is the reality of private healthcare, So enjoy your breakfast.

you have to ask for a lot of salt. they don't add salt the food obviously for medical reasons. so if you're allowed to have salt you have to ask for extra salt packets extra pepper and sometimes you have to ask for sugar packets. the food is pretty bland in the hospital system. but it's supposed to be because of dietary needs.

Not a fair comparison though is it, Free healthcare vs Private. You should see what private healthcare is like in the UK. Get treated like royalty with 10/10 facilities and food.

Typically in the larger hospital, the commissary is feeding the staff all the doctors and nurses and workers. They want them eating, healthy and happy and that that’s what they feed you.
