@marikakomrij: Unpopular opinion from a Dutch mom living in America… 🇳🇱🇺🇸 I actually love parts of the American healthcare system. After living in both the Netherlands and the U.S., a few things really surprised me — especially as a mom. Of course no system is perfect, but this has been my experience. Now I’m curious 👇 Where are you from and do you like your healthcare system? We have VERY good insurance. Because of that getting medical care is fairly easy for us. However you still have to wait for specialists for weeks or months depending on the specialty

Our healthcare is good. The pay and our messed up insurance system is NOT.

Our healthcare is top notch… if you have insurance, which is extremely expensive if you don’t have it fully covered by your job. Without it, you can go bankrupt.

The quality of care is very good in the United States. Insurance, however, may or may not be good, depend depending on who your employer is, what you can afford, or if you even have it.

Healthcare providers are wonderful. Our capitalist system sucks.

I love how sweet this is. But if you end up in the emergency dept or with a chronic illness I think that might influence how you feel a bit differently.

In Arizona to see a specialist for a kid it’s a 4 to 6 month. Wait we have been waiting six months to see an internal medicine doctor. We had to wait five months to see a dermatologist. It’s insane for kids in Arizona.

Here's a tip in case you weren't aware. Even if you dont have health insurance, you can still go to an emergency room and they're obligated to treat you. Yes, it can be very pricy, but you can work out a payment plan, and if you can't afford it, you can negotiate an reasonable amount than you can pay every month, or they can settle for half.

Healthcare is top notch, that’s not the problem it’s the system. Wait until you get seriously ill or need surgery. After care is horrible and mostly not covered by insurance. Good luck in America

En vergelijk nu voor de grap even de kosten en bedenk even de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding, plus de extreme invloed van commercie.

American healthcare is great *if you can afford it.* unfortunately, many people are thrust into poverty after getting sick. It’s so unfair.

This is Slop Raganda. If you are a billionaire you can get care. I went to ER for 4 hours my bill was $38000 US

oh it's the same here. just wait until you need something they don't or won't register. post again after you've had an acute issue that was dismissed or need more than basic labs. and here you get to go bankrupt!

You love healthcare because you can afford it! Ask the people who don’t have access

If you can afford it… and that is the whole problem. Universal healthcare is available for everybody, US healthcare is not. Nobody has ever said that US drs and hospitals are not good. To get better access to specialists and preventive care you don’t have to go to the US, it is much more widely available in Germany than in NL
