I recently moved to the city but I do have a small backyard with chain link fence. I have a very reactive dog that used to be highly “aggressive” I guess…would attack everything and everyone except me. I worked with him for years to get him to the point we could go to the park and only have small growls occasionally. Now, my neighbor YELLS “hey buddy hey buddy hey” or something similar every time he passes my yard and it’s making both this dog and one of my other ones start to regress. It’s so frustrating and idk what to do other than spend thousands on a privacy fence. The neighbor just doesn’t get it.

thank you I'm gonna try this! question, what about when we go out (as late as possible to avoid triggers) my dog seems to be on a mission to just walk nonstop, he does very little sniffing and during walks is not interested in anything else but to walk and be on the lookout, appreciate the tips and help! 🥰

My dog can tell the difference between real life and videos and doesn’t care about the sounds from the tv or from a device. She doesn’t heavily react never has. She just hyper focuses on every sight and sound and struggles ignoring most of it and focusing more on me. Which has caused some nervousness due to watching too much

So helpful! My dog barks at doorbell/knock or gardeners outside which often makes him anxious in the house. I will be trying this to get him used to sounds!

my 10 month old puppy gets so excited seeing people and especially other dogs, any tips for that? also she HATES going on walks… anything about that as well?!

I know this is kind of out of the blue, but when I’m doing crate training for my puppy, should I specifically look for one with a divider? I got told by someone else that if they have to much room they are more likely to go in there crate.

The thing is she is not treat driven when i’m home i try those exercise and she listen but as soon as we are outside she is overstimulated.

My dog is reactive only when a person approaches her. For example, when I exit the elevator and she sees another person waiting for it, or in the stairwell of my building when someone enters or leaves the building, or when I’m waiting at a crosswalk and there are other people standing near us especially if they interact with her and talk to her. She is a seven-month-old Havanese. What could I do about this situation?... 😢

Honestly, I do well inside the house with a lot of techniques. But I have an ex-racer rescue. The money you step outside a switch flips. Soghthound goes in high gear and there is virtually no breaking that barrier. No recall, no treat recognition, zero impulse control. We are making slow progress but having had dogs all my life (old guy). This is my first sighthound and one that was trained for 4 years for a very specific purpose. Such a lovely boy, but a lot of work. We will get there.
