This is awful. I lived with inlaws when I had my first and my mum still stayed with me for two weeks. She was so uncomfortable and worked so hard just to make it easier for me. My dad drove 90 miles every other day, to and back just to come and spend time with us. It's good it helped you grow but make sure you have a similar response to them later in life.

Ive just finished parenting children after 24yrs. My youngest just turned 18. it was tough. Did it completely solo from the minute they were born. My village grew as friendships were formed threw toddler play dates ect. My adult children are fiercely loyal and love me unconditionally. if im blessed to be a grandparent never will I stand back and I allow my children to feel the weight of responsibility without fully supporting them. btw that giggle is totally gorgeous 🥰

My children don't have anyone around them either. I cannot give them what grandparents could, but they are happy.

We stayed 4 weeks when our daughter had her babies. We took our caravan onto a site 2 miles away so we could come and go as they needed us and have time alone too. Worked perfectly. They never need to ask us for help even though we are 200 miles away. We are retired though.

My mum came home with me from the hospital stayed one hour then went home 😂 two days later her and my dad went on holiday. Im a lone parent too with no help from kids dad 😂

We offered to fly my mother here for a few weeks during the birth of our second child. At the time she was working 1 day a week and said she couldn't get the time off. She retired 3 weeks later.
