@final.drive.auto: If you don't know, since 2018 almost every new car sold has a feature typically called "Auto stop/start". This feature was designed to help save on fuel when stopped. How it works is when you come to stop while in "drive", the engine gets turned off. When you release your brake, the engine is kicked back on. By default the feature is on, you have to press the button and see the light on to turn the feature off
oh no, sir. please leave it off lol that's just going to ruin your car quicker, you won't be worried about gas if you don't have a car

keeping that on actually makes you waste more gas, starting the engine takes more gas then sitting and idling for a few minutes.

researchers have found that the start/stop doesn't really save any gas... in reality it's actually harder on your engine... especially if you have a turbo...

I drove a 2025 ford ranger n turned that immediately I hated how it felt turning off your truck at a red light is the dumbest thing to me

So you rather pay for a starter and battery faster than a bit more on gas. Rather just let it idle for the few seconds at stops

I thought it’ll save gas by shutting the car off temporarily to having it idle at a red light with it on burning gas 🤔

Pfft. Mine is permanently disable, I drive in sport mode, use my paddle shifters, and make sure I hear the pops from my exhaust.

Just think of all the stress that starter will have with it turning on constantly. All that money you think you will save will go to installing a new starter.

My last car and my new one has it. Both work just fine and never had any issues. My last car I put around 21000 miles a year on it.

you do realize you burn more fuel restarting than letting it idle for a minute unless you at a light that takes a 10 minute cycle
