@seannalewanyj: Until someone sends me a longer one I’m claiming the record on this… Anyway, to be clear, I don't recommend training like this. This is actually a good example of the types of reps I'd advise steering clear of. I have a bad habit of yolo'ing it with those all out grinders because I just find it satisfying to push all the way to the limit. Yes, you do need to train hard, but for the most efficient gains, leaving a rep in the tank strikes a better balance between maximizing the stimulus without excessive fatigue that eats into recovery. Going to failure here and there isn't gonna kill you (I still mix it in sparingly), and I do think you should at least have the capacity to push yourself with that kind of intensity. But just like with volume, more is not necessarily better and can actually be counterproductive. P.S.
