Just for clarity, when people reference rich people using charity as a tax write off, it’s a specific type of charitable setup where they control it and get additional benefits. Setting up a scholarship or giving to other charities is not that type of write off. They get a deduction but are still at a net loss. They don’t get any actual financial net cash flow benefit - they’re still out a lot. But this is cool of this guy to give to gofund me.
