I hate the steal lock rings. They bearly have any threads. Really sucks using them for PVC fittings. I miss the old diecast. But very few stock them anymore.

If you tighten the lock ring to where its snug you can just turn the connector clockwise with channels or linemans and it'll tighten the lock ring more.

Bud… if you’re tightening the nut instead of the fitting, you’re kicking yourself in the pants. They were never made to be whacked with a hammer. They were made to only need one tool to tighten them in place.
