It’s definitely the litter. That litter you’re using looks to be scented which isn’t good for cats anyway. I would suggest world’s best cat litter! I love it and the litter is flushable

I’ve had mine for over a year and JUST cleaned it. 1- it was NOT that gross… get a better clumping litter. 2- there is a littler dump feature that completely empties the drum for you so you can easily remove and hose it down. Once it’s dry you just pop it all back together and add new litter. Don’t let this deinfluence you, this is the best litter robot ever.

This is the best, most helpful review yet. I wish more people posted the less pretty side to products so we can make choices. As far as people saying they can’t clean this, not apartment friendly, etc., how are you cleaning your current litter box? Because I have to take my plain box style outside to clean it, too.

The one I got was 150 and it stops and stays closed when its full so that doesn't happen. I just have to sanitize every so often. This seems worse than scooping

The gross scraping happens when the waste bin gets too full of excrement. If you empty it in a timely fashion, it won’t accumulate enough to reach the rotating drum.
