i have the 4050, laughten audio la220 captures and fits my mid range far better than the 450. It captures that warmth. AT mic is a very very flat mic. Still a great mic though, just not for my voice. idk what other differences there are besides the omni, figure 8 recording, and the 18k cutoff vs 20k on the 40. would love to see a comparison of the 40 and 50 side by side.
