I love these games and have played them so many times. However, just for the fact that you cannot skip cutscenes in the original PS2 version of KH1 alone is enough for me to never recommend anyone play that version of KH1 lol Final Mix version all the way

also something of note: As of March 13 2026, Melody of Memory is STILL NOT on Steam yet. it is on Ps4 (playable on PS5), XB1 (playable on XBSeries), Switch (playable on NS2) and in The Epic Games Store

My friend is currently going through Kingdom Hearts rn I recommend kh1, CoM, Kh2 prolog (so the Roxas stuff up until the end of his summer vacation), then we watched 358/2. really helped them understand Axel better and the Roxas things in the late game

Dead wrong. I play 358/2 days first before KH2 and I don’t care what anyone says. Love the way it ushers you into KH2 at the end. The rest is a mix of release/chronological order. I will never change that.

I still remember finding out kh2 existed for the first time because I was in the hospital for appendicitis and they had it on the ps2s in the rooms. Most confusing experience ever, 10/10. I had my friend watch 358 first though because of how it ties so cleanly into the beginning of 2. I’m def pretty torn on the intended order there
