Mechanic here. Start stop is the single worst thing ever added. It dosnt do shit for gas mileage, it can actually kill the battery since the belt stops spinning and the alternator stops charging the battery, it does take a toll on the starter, Injectors, pistons, and so on.

These EPA changes are only temporary. No automotive manufacturer is going to change their plans for future models based on what is currently happening. Anyone knows the future is EV and environmental protection- not going backwards.
