@giovanniaxibal: Thinking on camera isn’t about moving your eyes around. It’s about processing something internally. When someone is actually thinking, there’s usually a brief pause where attention turns inward. The face relaxes slightly, the breath changes, and the eyes settle rather than constantly searching. You can often see the moment a thought forms, almost like something clicks into place. Actors are sometimes taught to indicate thinking by looking up or shifting their gaze left or right. And while those movements can happen naturally, they don’t create the thought. They only mimic the appearance of one. That’s the difference between having a thought and demonstrating a thought. When someone is truly thinking, their focus isn’t on what their eyes are doing. It’s on the question or idea they’re working through internally. The eyes may move, or they may stay still, but the audience can sense that something is actually being processed. Both versions can look believable at first glance. But on screen, what often feels more truthful is the moment when the thought arrives, not the moment when the actor shows us they’re thinking. If you watch closely, you can feel the difference between searching for a gesture and searching for an idea. Which version felt more believable? Top or Bottom? 👇🎭 #acting #psychology #audition #advice #tips
