My heart goes out to you🤍 you deserve everything and more for yourself that you gave to him. It’s true that we live in a system that isn’t designed for our care, comfort, or betterment. I think that even if it isn’t always admitted publicly, women are safeguarders in society and it’s not fair. I went through the same thing as you over the holidays with my partner of 2 yrs. I thought he was a good person until he betrayed me and my safety. It’s such a shame for them that they lost us because they lost someone who lived for them in a world where loving others is fickle…I hope you continue to find peace and growth away from this situation. I make comments about my husband to my friends (who are married to "good men") and it is truly heartbreaking how many men just do not show care for their partners & are absolutely comfortable breaking their partners as long as they don't experience discomfort. my husband isn't perfect, but my God the bar is in hell

Re: the last part - be grateful at least you did not have kids. Separating from your spouse when you have kids is so hard, particularly for working-class families, because of money. I think a lot of people would love to divorce but they can't afford to be single parents. If you're in a bad relationship and you don't have kids, leave.

I'm 40 now. I needed that advice probably when I was 16 or 17. I wish that they would teach this stuff in school, not just sex but relationships. I learned a lot in school but nothing that I really truly needed in any profession that I've been in and I've been able to work my way up. And I know I didn't get the salary of a gentleman in my same position. And my boss was a lady and that conditioning just feels like it falls everywhere but not in our favor
