My mom and I used to do a “making friends” course with my sister. I would pretend to be a kid she didn’t know, and her job was to try and start a conversation to make me her friend. I’d do anything for my sister :)

I remember me and my mom used to get in a lot of arguments and I couldn’t express my feelings because of my autism but then one day I learned the method of talking with her and agreeing with her point of view while still speaking on my position and it changed my damn life I think that is the most valuable skill I’ve ever learned

Autism wasnt well understood back when it was a major issue for me and i sadly had to kind of figure it out on my own after being subjected to “test” medication considering at the time they called it “thin skin syndrome” and not a true autism diagnosis.
