@lacey.rose.brit: My thoughts and feelings on the day my ex-husband has the kids for the first time #whotfdidimarry #fyp #coparenting #divorce #separation
I wish you’d told this story earlier. Because you were clearly a victim of emotional, mental and financial abuse, you could have applied for a Humanitarian Visa 💛 I’m so glad you’re out of this now and I wish you NOTHING but peace and healing x

the best thing my mother did was never speak poorly of my father to me as a child. As they grow the children will figure out for themselves. And until then you are providing them stability emotionally. you're doing a great job

I always thought it was best for my children to see their Dad, I provided things to, they are now 22 and 19 and I was wrong.

genuine question, nonjudgemental etc but what is it you want from his parents? Is it just acknowledgement? you mention they are still siding with him, but thats their son and as a parent myself I kinda see why they'd always be there for him no matter what? I know no matter what Id never gove up on my child and will always be there for them. just curious ❤️

i understand your reasoning, however, after listening to your whole story, i wouldn't let him take kids just like that, I'd have social services involved or they could stay in your garden where you could look over, have power over that, you gave up all your power. on the other hand, you must be even stronger than i thought being sure to take your kids and you don't know what's happening for so many hours.

I think they they could admit their son made (many many) mistakes and that they have made mistakes by backing up his lies, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t unconditionally love him. You can still unconditionally love someone and not need to agree with them and lie for them.

What ended up happening with my ex is that he would take my son to all these amazing places that I would then obviously not get to experience with him but also, because he paid no child support, I couldn’t afford to do them on my own because I was paying the bills and expenses for myself and my son. It would tear me apart and I think that’s one of the reasons why he did it. Now my son is a teen and he sees him for what he is but it didn’t make it easier going through it at the time.

Lacey there are two sides to grief here. The first is the loss of trust within the relationship and the second is one you only realise when you are in this situation. It’s the loss of family life. It’s a tragedy for your kids, but in time to important to heal. You have come across as a very kind, caring mother, who wanted the dream. A good husband and family etc. in time you will recover. You are amazing! In regards to his parents, don’t waste your energy on them. Your ex is a reflection of his parents. I wish you so much good luck

You surely know what’s best for your kids but if they tell someday that they don’t want to see their dad, listen to them 🩷

Ugh that’s got to be so heavy, Lacey. Big hugs to you. 100% get wanting them to have THEIR stuff. My mom was another that never said a negative word about my dad and, I’ll just say, the kids will always see the truth and I’m so glad I didn’t hear it from my mom. You’re such a good mum❤️

I always say the children have a right to see both parents (as long as no safeguarding concerns) you can’t let how you feel dictate the relationship with their child. As long as you put the child first however that maybe they will always see the truth when they are older. I have anxiety everytime my child is with their dad. You’re so strong! You will rebuild a better life for you and your babies 🩷
