Definitely not trippin!!!. Those are wasted days. I agree 100% I work 2nd shift so I don’t get out of work till 10:30 PM sometimes 11 PM and most of the time I have a 6 AM flight so I am literally getting home to scramble to finish packing last minute, of course and most of the time I do not sleep. I’m headed out to the airport airport at 3 AM …no time wasted so I agree with you 100% keep on doing what you doing.!!!

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 You’re not tripping at all. This is me! We’re on a 3 week vacation cruising from Sydney Australia to Auckland New Zealand! I worked the same day we left for our trip and I will return to work the following day after we return which will be on a Friday. Yes! I’m going back to work on a Friday. My coworker thought it was crazy for me to return back to work on a Friday. We don’t work weekends I can rest then. I’m very Intentional the way I use my PTO. I have two more International trips this year. 💃🏽🕺🏽

I get a lot of time off, so I typically take the day before I go off and the day after I get back off. I work a 4 day work week also, so sometimes I'll plan my travel so that I'm getting back the night before my day off so I don't have to take the extra day. My responsibilities don't allow me to take 2 week long trips though, unfortunately, so I'm less worried about running through my time. If my time and life was setup differently, I would probably maximize my time more like how you do.

It definitely comes down to how much PTO you get. I get 13 days a year and whatever I don’t use gets rolled over into the next year so some years I start with over 20 days of PTO. I work with children so being exhausted or stressed while trying to pack and prepare or right after coming back is a no go. I’ve learned the hard way so I will be taking those extra days off when we needed.

my job works different. I can just give away days I don't want to work and pick up shifts before or after to make up for it if I'm not on a paid vacation week. also I work at the airport so OFTEN we fly out after our shifts that day/night.

That’s why I come back on a Friday or Saturday so I can rest on a Sunday & return to work on Monday. I also work until I have to leave for the airport.

I do the same thing, I usually choose an evening flight to work the day of my trip, but I do take the day off after the trip.

You’re not tripping because that’s exactly what I always do as well. I’m not taking off any day off before the trip. The same thing my PTO stats is the same day. I’m going to be traveling and the same day. I am set to return to work I am traveling back the day before that so I don’t waste any days whatsoever.
