Yes my husband got fired and we have had food ready to eat. I have been able to reduce my groceries to $50 a week while he was out of work.

I so do agree with you! Since the day I did my first canning session I sprained both feet and ankles and my husband had a job loss. I believe in being prepared. SHTF is just one reason to be prepared but odds are it will be used for other scenarios.

This! When Helene hit us and we didn’t have power for 2 weeks & our stores were cleaned out & deliveries couldn’t get here…we didn’t have to stress bc we had put in the work ahead of time 🙌🏻

I try to keep a well stocked pantry. Someone asked me if we didn’t have much as a kid. She was right. My mother worked 2 & 3 jobs to keep a roof over our heads. Our pantry was bare. When my mother would go grocery shopping, I would show everyone that came in our home that we had food. I guess it carried into my adult life where I don’t want an empty pantry

⬆️Exactly… mommas grocery store helped when the winter came and power was out for 92 hrs… or when we all had the flu bug … or when a friend had her baby early… was able to give her meals that were easy for thier family of 6 to eat … while momma was healing. They didn’t have to run to the grocery or go out to eat. It’s a choice… it’s a lot work so worth every step but I love every minute of it.
