Sugar is not the devil. Can we say this louder! People need to learn how to work with it and have a different relationship with sugar and their bodies… also everyone is different. :) my MIL is type 2 and I work with her and there are times her body needs sugar because her glucose level is too low.

I have type 2.. my younger sister is borderline, my older brother had type 2, my dad has type 2, my dad's sister has it, both of his parents had it... I'm pretty sure it's genetic.

I got diabetes 4 years after my sister, her diagnosis made the whole household ditch sugar, full fat diary and white bread even candy and juice. I was NOT eating sugar. This was over 25 years ago with standard insulin doses so I’ll excuse my parents action

Trust me my mom took care of herself most of her youth mostly, she still ended up w diabetes. It can happen to anyone. People are even born w it even.

I just wish as a Type 1 diabetic people would learn the difference between T1D and T2D. They have a lot of differences like diet, weight, lifestyle and being able to control T2D with those things vs T1D that is not the case nothing we did caused it, it’s an autoimmune disorder and unless they come up with a cure I will have to take insulin forever to live!!!

My colleague thought that sweetener was sugar, but as I pointed out if it was sugar my bloods would be through the roof!😱 The education especially from professionals who don’t deal with T1D is also shocking!x

My son is a type 1 since he is 12yrs old, now he is 17 and growing up I didnt like sugar so I never gave my kids sugar, just the once in a while sweet treat cause hey they are kids after all but I know its due to gis pancreas being a B and decided tk fail him 😅
